Project Description

Finita: Portuguese feminine singular noun meaning something that has an end or a limit. Developed over the last two years, Denise Stutz’s new solo was sparked by a letter from her mother. With that inspiration, she used the scenic architecture of theater to elaborate the concept of loss and work with issues of aging and absence from the perspective of dance. The creative process was posted on a blog:

Denise Stutz began her dance studies in Belo Horizonte (MG). In 1975, along ten other dancers, she created Grupo Corpo. She worked with choreographer Lia Rodrigues as a dancer, teacher and director’s assistant. For more than ten years, she has been creating and performing her own pieces, with wide national and international circulation.
